VIA selling $82M in bonds to buy natural gas-powered bus fleet

VIA Metropolitan Transit is selling $82 million in bonds to buy 270 natural gas-powered buses. The San Antonio-based public transit agency announced the bond sale Friday afternoon. An underwriting team led by Morgan Stanley is selling the metropolitan transit authority contractual obligation bonds in $1,000 denominations that will pay 2.63 percent interest upon maturity in July 2029.
